BY CAR

Brno can be easily reached from all major cities in the Czech Republic (including Prague, Olomouc, Ostrava) through a large network of highways and motorways.

Prague-Brno -  distance: 208 km, time: 2 h 07 min
Olomouc-Brno -  distance: 77 km, time: 52min
Ostrava-Brno - distance: 170 km, time: 1 h 40 min

For travel on highways in the Czech Republic, a vignette sticker is necessary. Sections, where the motorway vignette is required, are marked with a typical "highway" or "motorway" traffic sign. Motorways and highways that are free of charge are marked by a traffic sign "free of charge" (a picture of a crossed-out vignette) together with the standard highway/motorway traffic sign. Vignettes can be purchased at all Czech Post branches, fuel stations, border crossings and other places providing services for motorists.

Parking in the city of Brno is possible only in designated areas and is mostly paid. In the outer areas of the city there are larger parking lots. There are also several underground and above-ground garages available.
